A space where biotechnology grows in community.
Laboratory of Functional Genomics for Bioprospecting was founded with the conviction that Mexico’s biodiversity holds unique answers to global challenges in health and sustainability. More than a laboratory, we aim to build a collaborative ecosystem where researchers, students, and partners work together to generate knowledge and solutions with social impact.
Our laboratory integrates scientific research, talent development, and collaboration with national and international actors. From Mexico, we connect the richness of our microorganisms with cutting-edge technologies, always with the vision of transforming biodiversity into innovation that serves both people and the environment.
Our vision
Leading biotherapeutic discovery from Mexico
Every unexplored microorganism represents an opportunity to open new therapeutic pathways and, at the same time, highlight to the world the value of our national biodiversity.
Our mission
Transforming biodiversity into solutions
We research and develop innovative therapies against obesity and other health challenges, leveraging Mexican microorganisms and advanced biotechnologies to connect science, society, and sustainability.
